What is “Downwind Town”?

Robert Bohacek Riding Hydrofoil

Robert Bohacek has been kiting and foiling in the Tampa Bay area since 2002. He is the owner of an IT services company called mpsWORKS which provides business IT services to small and medium sized businesses in the Tampa Bay area. In his free-time he is chasing the wind around the area beaches with his SUP foil and either paddle or wing, depending upon how much energy he has or how many friends can give him ride back upwind.

Robert and Brent sparked the Downwind Town idea to share tips and current information to the burgeoning community of downwind foil riders in Central Florida.

Brent Duty

Brent Duty

Brent Duty grew up in Saint Petersburg Florida and have been surfing most of his life and loves it. He took on SUP surfing around 2011 and did that until about 2017 when he became obsessed with foiling. His goal in life is striving to balance the role as a husband and father with his own fun. Foiling is a challenging endeavor that keeps him engaged physically and mentally. He is grateful to have a place to ride with innovative crafts that he can escape the everyday and immerse himself in nature. He is also grateful for his family that understands his obsession!
